As a previous day job and career, I have been designing and developing high performance engines for the past 20+ years, for race (BTCC, LeMans, WRC, IRL), fast-road, fuel-economy and hydrogen fuel cell applications, for the past 9 years I have specialized in electrical motor design and hybrid electric boosting technologies (electric superchargers) for high performance and low C02 projects for mass production with premium vehicle manufacturers.
I designed the electric supercharger (EPC) currently fitted to the Audi V6 and V8 TDi mass-production engines, this was a 6 year project with my employer Valeo and Audi, which started in 2010 and was launched in 2016. I was the Design Manager for the Valeo Electric Supercharger project, a worlds first technology.
I am both a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). I have been building engines since I was 12 years old. So please rest assured any engine is in very safe and experienced hands. I raced in honda-cadets with my son for 4 years, we have won races, won championships, been on the podium, set fastest laps, been through scrutineering, had our engines stripped and gauged by scrutineer inspection, so I practice what I preach. My intention is to offer a competitive, legal, honest and dedicated service, which is capable of placing you on the podium.
I am now the Technical Centre Manager for BorgWarner in Gillingham Kent, I manage the day to day operations of the facilities group, I am responsible for 9 managers and 120 Engineers, a sub-micron CNC machine shop, 100 durability rigs, 12 truck grade (700KW / 3800NM) engine dynos and an an F1/Aerospace grade metrology department. All for the development of Heavy Duty truck pump and injector common-rail Diesel and Hydrogen-ICE fuel systems, for all typical HGV truck customers.
